Novalis is committed to making products that are safe for our colleagues, installers and customers. That’s why we conduct Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions testing on all of our products. VOC emissions testing screens building products for hazardous chemical emissions that could affect human health. Our products are compliant with even the most stringent VOC emissions certifications on the planet.

FloorScore®

FloorScore® is one the most common and accesible VOC emissions certifications for flooring products. Developed by SCS Global in conjunction with the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI), FloorScore tests products according to the CDPH Standard Method v1.2-2017. FloorScore screens products for 35 different VOCs, in order to verify that products do not emit toxic levels of hazardous chemicals qualify for popular green building certifications and requirements, such as LEED, WELL and CHPS.

Indoor Advantage Gold

Indoor Advantage Gold is similar to FloorScore and is similarly administered by SCS Global, but certifies that products are compliant with ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 and X7.1, which are common furniture VOC emissions requirements. Though Indoor Advantage Gold tests for the same number of chemicals and chemical groups as FloorScore, it has a more stringent Total VOC (VOC) Emissions limit of 220 μg/m3. This applies to our Serenbe LVT, Designer Series LVT ,Designer Series LLT ,Designer Series RC1 HDC, Lyndon Plus LVT, Serenbe HDC and Maybree product lines.

GREENGUARD Gold

GREENGUARD Gold is the most stringent VOC emissions certification for flooring products. GREENGUARD Gold tests for 40 different chemicals and chemical groups and has a Total VOC (VOC) Emissions limit of 220 μg/m3, making it more stringent than both FloorScore and Indoor Advantage Gold. GREENGUARD Gold certification ensure that our products are among the safest in the industry.
